Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Services

WIC provides multiple services to support your breastfeeding/chestfeeding experience. Our WIC team is committed to providing information, support, and guidance every step of the way, regardless of whether you are starting your breastfeeding/chestfeeding journey or facing common problems. We want you to have all the information at your fingertips to make an informed infant feeding decision and fulfill your breastfeeding/chestfeeding goals.

Breastfeeding Helpline:

Call one of our experience Breastfeeding Helpline Peer Counselors at (323) 905-1248. They are available to answer your infant feeding questions before your next scheduled WIC visit.

Peer Counseling Program:

WIC offers breastfeeding/chestfeeding peer counseling services. Our peer counselors are parents with personal breastfeeding/chestfeeding experience. They offer mentoring, coaching, and information on infant feeding, support you during the challenging breastfeeding/chestfeeding moments, and offer guidance on reaching your breastfeeding/chestfeeding goals. Call us at (323) 905-1248 to inquire about having your own personal peer counselor support you during pregnancy and the first several months after giving birth.

 


Breast Pumps:

Ask our WIC team about finding a breast pump to serve your needs. You may be eligible for our free manual pump, electric pump for a medical condition, or a personal double pump if you are returning to work or school. Call us at (323) 905-1248 to find out if you are eligible for a pump and what other services are available to you.
